Boyington v. Lenin...

Mr.Atos

Fremont, Washington... Self-proclaimed "Center of the Universe." This hamlet of Seattle sits opposite Interstate 5 from the University district of the University of Washington. Many of that institution's students call Fremont home. And they are quite proud of this statue.

Its a nearly 12 foot tall bronze effigy of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, standing in the middle of the town square.

Last week, our own Major Mike posted regarding the current controversy at the University of Washington.
"Show Me A Hero..." Apparently the students of UW have taken a firm stance against a campus Memorial in honor of this particular Alumnus...

The same students who wholeheartedly embrace their proud statue of the infamous Soviet Leader simply cannot stomach a memorial to celebrate a genuine American Hero... one who, at their age, performed tremendous acts of courage and sacrifice on the frontier of chaos in order to protect their liberty to squander his generations' legacy while celebrating the blessings of tyranny.

Go figure! It makes me doubly proud to be a Longhorn.
