Kontroversy, Krap, Konfusion, and Katrina...

Mr.Atos

Here we go again,

More Controversy, Crap and Confusion from the Old Busted, Drive-by media, today. It seems they try to fling this story into the fan every week in some form or another. Aiding Leftwing extremists groups like MoveOn.Org, the MSM has reached deep into the memory crapper to mold this stinker of a fabrication from the facts that they have conveniently flushed. From the Washington Post,
A newly leaked video recording of high-level government deliberations the day before Hurricane Katrina hit shows disaster officials emphatically warning President Bush that the storm posed a catastrophic threat to New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, and a grim-faced Bush personally assuring state leaders that his administration was "fully prepared" to help.

The footage, taken of a videoconference of federal and state officials on Aug. 28, offered an unusually vivid glimpse of real-time decision making by an administration that has vigorously guarded its internal deliberations.

Reactions to the tape, which was obtained by the Associated Press, varied widely -- reflecting the intense debate that has brewed for six months about who should be held accountable for an initially flaccid government response to the catastrophe.

But, do let's recall the truth of the day before landfall as noted right here on this Blog:

Kat 6...

NEW ORLEANS - Mayor Ray Nagin ordered an immediate evacuation Sunday for all of New Orleans, a city sitting below sea level with 485,000 inhabitants, as Hurricane Katrina bore down with wind revved up to nearly 175 mph and a threat of a massive storm surge.

Acknowledging that large numbers of people, many of them stranded tourists, would be unable to leave, the city set up 10 places of last resort including the Superdome arena."This is a once in a lifetime event," the mayor said.

"The city of New Orleans has never seen a hurricane of this magnitude hit it directly."

The mayor called the order unprecedented, but said Katrina's storm surge would likely top the levees that protect the city from thesurrounding water of Lake Pontchartrain, the Mississippi River and marshes. The bowl-shaped city must pump water out even during normal times, and the hurricane threatened pump power.

In a scene reminiscent of Deep Impact, News images show thousands of cars jammed into the outbound lanes of the interstates. Rumor has it that the President himself ordered local authorities to issue evacuation orders, breaking the paralysis of political fear in the face of approaching danger.

Emphasis added to enforce the point that the MSM hopes to flush down their one hole crapper. The President suggested, then urged, then ordered Blanco and Nagin to evacuate New Orleans. And finally as the storm approached land onSunday, August 28, 2005, the feckless King of New Orleans, Mayor Ray Nagin reluctantly gave the order, while providing no means or mechanisms to facilitate the process.

Those are the facts. And no matter how often the Drive-By Media wishes to flush the truth down their memory crapper while firing conjecture like projectiles into a crowd, we'll be here to pull them back out in their original and factual form to shove the crap back down the throats of the punks of the Old Busted Media gang.

once again, the Lefties and the MSM can have it both ways. This statement says quite a bit:

"Rumor has it that the President himself ordered local authorities to issue evacuation orders . . ."

Semantically that says to me that the president was acting as an over-bearing Executive, beyond his constitutional mandate. Yet now he and FEMA are the only ones to blame because they didn't do enough.

Are we that forgetful? Are we that eager to forget things in order to shape reality to our fickle opinions? If you're an out-of-power Democrat, you are.
